At Outland we understand the important role Aboriginal communities have in the sustainable management of Canada’s forest resources and we are committed to partnering with First Nations, industry and educational partners to assist in providing employment and training opportunities. Our range of training and employment initiatives illustrates a strong social consciousness with respect to the traditional lands and communities on or adjacent to our forest operations. We have become an industry leader in facilitating effective capacity building environments for Aboriginal youth and are committed to developing the northern workforce to reflect the demographic in Canada’s northern populations. We provide the following First Nations initiatives:
- Youth development and mentoring programs.
- Cooperative capacity building training/work initiatives.
- Post training program employment opportunities available in Outland’s forestry operations.
We are proud to be in partnership with Confederation College in implementing the First Nations Natural Resources Youth Employment Program (FNNRYEP). For details on this program please go here.
